The two modes enable the truck to run on a combination of Vortec 6.0L LIVC V8 VVT gasoline power and electric power generated by GM's Hybrid Propulsion System — or each on its own. CORE STRENGTH.

The foundation of Silverado's incredible strength begins with its three-piece modular frame. It provides the greatest reinforcement where it is needed most. An example is provided by the hydroformed, fully-boxed front section that is used to support the weight of the powertrain. The frame also employs high-strength steel to support the box, facilitating payloads up to 898 kg (1980 lb.). The frame's unyielding torsional rigidity also contributes to a smooth and exceptionally quiet ride. Yet another Silverado strength.
